Dresser Redo

Ok, I almost forgot to get before pictures. At the very last minute I remembered. This is a dresser I painted like 8 years ago and loved it at the time but the love has faded. So here is the change. I first stripped the top and then sanded and stained it. I painted the remainder of the dresser with this yummy color. I kept the same handles and mmm...I am in love again.
I am just waiting for my hubby to hang that heavy mirror you see to the side.

Simple paint job!

Di find Desk fo $10.00 I had some leftover material from the lamp so i painted this chair brown and covered the chair pad with it!

Painted the desk an espresso brown. I decided not to sand because I liked how rich it looked just like this!

Added new hardware and great desk for my little boys room!

Yellow!!

Remember this?? Its about time!! I know!
Isnt this color so yummy? I love it!! Its called Go Go Marigold. After painting it with this happy color I did a bit of sanding. Then I used a dark stain (Jacobean) over the top and finished up with a clear coat.

Instead of putting the old handles back on I used these beauties!!

I found this LAMP at DI for a little more than I would have liked but 4.00 isn't too shabby!

I found this white shade the same day for 1.00 and it fit perfectly,so I bought them both and put them in the BASEMENT until I could BRAINSTORM what I wanted it to BECOME!

YESTERDAY I was at Walmart and found this fabric on the clearance rack for 1.50 a yard I only needed 1/2 a yard making it .75 SWWWEEET I also found this rope thing I can't think of what it is called .LOL!anyway it was 1.47 a yard so I bought 2 yards. I hot glued the material to the shade!

Do you have the time?

Found this cute clock at our trusty Goodwill. Cute little red thing! But didnt stay that way for long. I took this thing apart and sprayed the red rim with a cream color and the hands with a dark chocolate brown.I also found this wire thingy. Yes, I can make magic with these!!
I took some cute scrapbook paper and cut a circle to the right size. I cut a slit and a small circle out of the center to fit it around the clock hands. This isn't the paper I used, just demonstrating.

I got out some cute jewels to pose in the number spaces. I put it all back together and attached the wire thingy to the back but only at the top because I wanted to make sure we can change the battery when needed.

Fun and chic for a little girls room!

SHELF APPEAL

I found this shelf at DI for 1.50 it was a cherry wood color so I painted it ANTIQUE WHITE!
I love adding handles to things so I took this handle .94 at home depot, painted it BROWN and then sanded it down just a little.

Sanded the shelf just enough to make it look antiqued. Attached the handle with hot glue.

And hung it on my daughters wall.I love using handles on things it adds just the right amount of
FLARE!

Out with the fake art

Found this at D D's Discount for $8. Yeah, I know. I am not a fan of the fake art either. But I wanted to use the frame. So I took this thing apart and got my measurments.
I used bead board and applied 3 coats of the magnetic paint. Once that was dry I painted it red.

Once the red layer was dry I used an inking technique using paint. I sprayed some of my black paint into a little puddle and dipped a small section of my rag into it. Using my rag I dabbed it along the creases of the bead board and around the edge to create some depth.

Then I placed it in the frame and now I have a great magnet board for my kitchen.

Do you love???

Little Dress (remake)

I started with this old tank of mine. Ugh!!! Right?? I cut of a good chunk from the shoulder straps and sewed them back together to shorten them up.
Next thing I did was use Stretchrite Elastic Sewing Thread. I knew this would help me sinch this baggy thing up a bit. I did one seam around the neckline. Then I did three seams right around the chest area.

I jazzed it up with some cute flowers and a ribbon close to the bottom.

And now my daughter has a fresh new look. Sorry for the bad lighting. My camera has decided not to work with me.

Family board

I just added a little of color to this frame by mod podging scrapbook paper to it! An easy way to add a little color to a room!

I've had this board sitting around and finally decided to do something with it.I found some wooden letters at roberts I think they were .15 ea. and mod podged them with scrapbook paper that I had in storage cut out some of the flowers from the paper to add to the board, a couple of ribbon bows and this is what I came up with!

Fruit Bowl

I forgot to get pictures of these items before. I found the wooden bowl at the Goodwill for $1.99 and the base of the bowl is actually a candle holder that I found for $.69. I glued them together and painted it red. A fun idea I got from HERE.

clothes-pins & more clothes-pins

I saw this on another crafters blog. Don't ask which one because there are a million that I
brouse. Eventually I will use these to display the kids artwork in their room.

This JUMBO clothes pin I found in the clearance aisle at Marshals.

I made it pretty with some fun scrapbook paper. It could hold a picture, card, memo or...

yes, even a recipe card.
